FAQ

Q: Did you go to school for photography?
A: I am a self taught photographer. I spent my first few years educating myself with reading but what really helped me grow was hands on learning. I began my first year in the wedding world by second shooting under professionals. I have since attended my first workshop and studied under my favourite influencers such as India Earl, Anni GrahamMelissa Marshall, Noelle Johnson, The Moody Romantic and many others.

Q: Do you do boudoir photos?
A: Absolutely. I have shot numerous boudoir sessions. There must be a mutual understanding and level of respect in these types of sessions. If clients want the photos kept private, I completely respect it. This is the reason as to why a majority of my boudoir work is unavailable for show.

Q: Do you take family photos?
A: Mhmm! I like to make my family sessions more candid and adventurous than a standard formal session. If you're looking to capture some natural reactions in a meaningful environment, let me know.

Q: What kind of couples do you get along with?
A: I'm available to anyone but my style may not be for everyone.
The couples I get along with know the value of photography; they consider it to be a truly important investment on their day. They are searching for someone who is going to be able to capture their perspective in a unique style. I get along best with couples that welcome me into their hearts and trust me to do my thing.

Q: How many weddings/events have you photographed?
A:
Within four years I have been blessed to be apart of capturing over 40 weddings of my own and numerous special events.

Q: How many photographers will be in my wedding?
A:
Wedding packages can be either one or two photographers.

Q: Will you travel for our wedding?
A:
Absolutely! I love travelling. I offer all-inclusive travel packages for weddings and engagements outside of Manitoba. If you're planning to get away or you live somewhere else and are interested in my work, please inquire!

Q: Do you shoot elopements?

A: YES! I absolutely love when couples want to keep their wedding intimate.

Q: I am very shy and awkward in front of a camera, can you work with this?
A:
There are very few people that are comfortable right off the bat. Most importantly, just be ready to have a conversation and be willing to trust me. There is nothing unnatural that I'll be asking you to do, so if you're comfortable laughing and getting cozy with your loved one, it's inevitable that you will rock it.

Q: Are we allowed to post photos from our wedding day and engagement session on social media?
A: Please do! All I ask is that you credit Vanessa Mayberry Photography whenever possible.

Q: How long will it take to receive photos from the wedding day?
A: I always try to complete a package in a reasonable amount of time, without rushing through the work. My goal is that all products included in the package will be delivered and sent within 60 business days.

Q: What do the wedding packages include?
A: Please inquire through email to receive a PDF file of my 2018/19 packages!

Q: Can we order extra products/ prints/ albums from you?
A: I offer select printing options exclusively to clients. Additional flash drives can be purchased.

Q: Are we allowed to print our own photos and create our own album?
A: I include print release within wedding albums, so that you and your loved ones can print them as much as you like!

Q: Do you offer engagement sessions?
A: Within my two wedding packages, I offer a complimentary one hour engagement session anywhere within Winnipeg, or within reasonable distance.

Q: What are some outfit suggestions?
A: I know this is a tough one... I would say "anything!" however there are a few things I encourage clients to stay away from. If you are unsure, don't hesitate to ask!

Q: Tell me a bit about your editing.
A: As an artist, I sort through each and every photograph, selectively pick the moments that significantly stand out and I edit them individually. I correct any skin imperfections but do not superimpose bodies or anything over the top like that. This is a very tedious process for myself but one that is rewarding to my clients. I selectively pick which images I wish to develop as a black and white photo based on the mood that was caught in the moment.
