Tulum is one of my favourite places on Earth! The beaches are beautiful, the locals are very polite and overall my entire experience here was an "Eat Pray Love" getaway!
My first night included wandering the town with my best friend and checking out some of the stores. We came across Prep Hair Tulum which was opened by the very talented, Winnipeg hair designer, Chelsea. My friend and I ran into her and it turned out she needed a photographer for the following day... so as fate would have it, I got the opportunity to shoot for a collaboration project.
Hair + Makeup: Prep Hair
Clothing: Rio Tulum
Jewellery: Sunday Feel
Model: Juliah LM
If you live in Winterpeg, Manisnowba and plan on taking photos in January, you best be prepared to shoot in -40 (with the wind chill) conditions :)
I still don't even know how Ryan and I survived in this shoot/ managed to get any usable footage.
It is pretty sweet being able to call these two gorgeous sisters my friends!
GIANNA, PORTRAIT SESSION
Creative portrait sessions are my favourite to photograph because its a very intimate session usually involving only the model and myself or a small team including the hair and makeup artists or fashion designers who are collaborating all of their expertise into something magical. In this case, Gianna trusted me to take complete creative control of this session. It was just her and I wandering on location and experimenting with various elements.
Working with Gianna is a dream. She has amazing confidence and determination that excels her when it comes to pursuing something she is passionate about. I had a fantastic time photographing her.
Mini Portrait Session
Marianna is my best friend. She thinks she can just take advantage of me to get free photos.
No, I'm kidding! I actually forced her to be in front of the camera during my other friends session because I thought she looked amazing in the field. Believe it or not, she hates being in front of the camera. Our friend got her to throw on a cowboy hat and walk back and forth. Poor girl got yellow all over her work dress, but I think it was worth it ;)
